The Concert Hall building was built in 1967 as per the design of the architect Albert Karimov. It was conceived as a combined complex for movie screening and concerts of the largest creative collectives of the region and the country in whole. The Hall had not only the record number of spectator seats in the city - 1200, but also the largest screen, a wide stage and a special acoustic solution that could fit into this complex.

In 2010-2011 a full-scale reconstruction of the main performance site of Omsk was carried out by the decision of the Governor of Omsk Region L. K. Polezhaev. Architectural acoustics and possibility of multifunctional use of the Hall were named as a priority in the work.

Reopened in April 2011, the Concert Hall became a real pride of Omsk Region. Today it is a concert venue that meets international standards, has excellent technical characteristics and unique acoustic properties.

All stages of the hall reconstruction, from design to implementation, were closely monitored by one of the world's leading acoustic engineers, Nicholas Edwards (Great Britain).
According to his decision, the ceilings of the Concert Hall were raised almost by 10 meters, on both sides of the stage the hall is enclosed by inclined structures equipped with special sound-scattering niches, which give the hall the form of a trapezoid, there are balconies along the perimeter of the upper circle.

The ceiling, released from the sound absorbing coating, resembles a star-studded sky; this effect is created by 386 lighting devices. More than 50 color-changing static and dynamic spotlights are located above the stage.
Now director's productions can use the most diverse color-light solutions that can become even independent decorations during performances.

The unique acoustic possibilities of the reconstructed hall are highly acclaimed by outstanding musicians - Denis Matsuev, Dmitry Khvorostovsky, Vladimir Spivakov. The Concert Hall was called «an amazing phenomenon" by People's Artist of Russia Maestro Valery Gergiev, who performed here shortly after its opening with the symphony orchestra of the Mariinsky Theater.
