The IV Yankelevitch International Violin Competition’s concerts dates and rounds schedule have been announced

The Steering Committee has approved the schedule of the IV Yankelevitch International Violin Competition. The competition program will be opened on April 24 with a gala concert, in which outstanding violinists of the world, the Jury of the Competition: Chairman of the jury, Professor Pierre Amoyal (France), laureate of international competitions Sergei Dogadin (Russia) and Concertmaster of the Toulouse Capitol National Orchestra Elisabetta Garetti (Italy), will demonstrate the virtuoso possession of the instrument in a performance with the Omsk Siberian Orchestra.

The participants from the older age group (15-25 y.o.) will be the first who will enter the contest. They will compete for the main prize of the competition – an old violin by Eugenio Degani, which was chosen for the future winner personally by the Honorary President of the Competiton, People's Artist of the USSR, Vladimir Spivakov.

The violinists from the older age group will start rehearsals immediately after the registration and draw, which will be held in the morning of April 24. The first round of competition for them is scheduled for April 25 and 26. For the second round, which is scheduled for April 27, eight participants will be selected from the twelve who have passed the qualifying round based on video recordings. And only four of them will be lucky to continue the competition in the third round with the Omsk Academic Symphony Orchestra, which is scheduled for April 30.

The draw for the contestants of 9-15 y.o. in the junior group will be held on April 27. There will be two rounds of competitive auditions for them: 1st round - on April 28 and 29, and the second round – on April 30. Only 6 participants out of 20 contestants will be admitted to it. Small musicians will compete for cash bonuses from 18 to 50 thousand rubles in two rounds of the competition.

The work of the concertmasters will also be evaluated by the Jury of the Competition; the best concertmaster will receive a cash prize of 35,000 rubles.

It is planned that the President of the Competition, People's Artist of the USSR, Vladimir Spivakov will attend the final rounds of the contest in both age groups. On May 1 he will present well-deserved awards to the laureates of the IV Yu.I. Yankelevich International Violin Competition at the official awards ceremony.

The results of the competition will be announced on May 1 at a big gala concert of the winners in the Concert Hall of the Philharmonic, which promises to become a bright gift to Omsk people for the spring holiday.

On the site of the Omsk Philharmonic and in all the ticket offices of the city, ticket sales for the Opening
Ceremony of the contest on April 24 and the Gala-Concert of laureates on May 1 have already opened.

All competitive auditions are open, those who wish can visit them and support the participants.
