In connection with the continuing unfavorable epidemiological situation in the world associated with the spread of coronavirus infection, the organizing committee of the competition decided to re-postpone the dates of the V Yankelevitch International Violin Competition. The new dates for the violin competition were announced on May 23-30, 2022.
Recall that the competition was supposed to take place in May 2020. The selection committee of the V Yankelevitch International Violin Competition received 88 applications: 47 applications in the junior group and 41 applications in the senior one. The geography of the participants in the qualifying round of the competition is very wide. Applications came from violinists from Azerbaijan, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Japan, Germany, Donetsk People's Republic, Kazakhstan, China, Greece, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Great Britain, Belgium, South Korea and Russia.
In connection with the next postponement of the competition to 2022, the organizing committee decided not to take into account the results of the selection round held in 2019 and announce a new collection of applications for participation in the competition. The new deadlines for accepting applications and the regulations for the stages of the competition will be determined in the Regulations, the adjustments of which are being made by the organizing committee. The updated Regulation will be posted on the competition website in the summer of 2021.
