Throughout the week from May 23 to May 28, violin fans around the world followed the progress of the V International Violin Competition. Yu.I. Yankelevich, which was held online for the first time. An authoritative international jury consisting of: Chairman of the Jury - Professor of the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Mikhail Kopelman (Russia-USA), Deputy Chairman of the Jury - Professor of the University of Music of Vienna, Professor of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz Boris Kushnir (Russia-Austria) ), concertmaster of the Orchestra of the Opera House Carlo Felice Elisabetta Garetti (Italy), professor of the Tokyo National University of Arts Takashi Shimizu (Japan) and artist of the Omsk Academic Symphony Orchestra, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Alexander Muralev evaluated the performing arts of young musicians according to the recordings in accordance with the program of competitive tours , which were broadcast on the official resource of the contest yankelevitch.com.

Yesterday, May 28, the final round of auditions for the senior group contestants took place, in which 4 finalists from Japan, Germany and Russia were selected. All participants of the final third round showed high technical skills and skillful reading of musical images.

After a long discussion, the jury came to the conclusion that all the finalists deserve the title of laureates of the competition. As a result, prizes in the older age group were distributed as follows:

The title of laureate of the 1st degree was awarded to a post-graduate student of the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, Issei Kurihara (Japan).

The title of laureate of the 2nd degree was awarded to two participants at once: a student of the Moscow State Conservatory. P. I. Tchaikovsky Maria Arteeva (Russia), student of the Austrian University Mozarteum Alexandra Weissbecker (Russia-Germany).

The title of laureate of the 3rd degree was awarded to a graduate of the Moscow State Conservatory. P. I. Tchaikovsky Victoria Tulskaya (Russia).

The winner of the Grand Prix of the competition will be announced later. His name will be announced by the honorary president of the competition, People's Artist of the USSR Vladimir Spivakov at the final press conference, which will be held on May 31 in Omsk and will be broadcast on the official website of the competition yankelevitch.com.
